International Women's Day 2022
Happy International Women's Day!Sending love on this wonderful day devoted to celebrating women, their achievements and the need for gender equality.I'm a massive fan of creating a world where difference is valued and celebrated and believe the best place to start is within our own communities.Northern Ireland, my home, has always been a dot on the planet plagued by divisions and complexities affecting both men and women and we're still feeling it in present times.💔We're a resilient bunch, yes but the traumatic impact of our brutal past has affected 40% of Northern Irish people whether that be directly or inter-generationally.Needless to say, many women are included in this figure and we still experience the below issues on a daily basis (as do men):• discrimination• inequalities• poverty• low self-esteem• low confidence• depression• anxiety• addictions• abuse• family break-upsIt's really heart-warming for me to be raising funds for Glow a local charity supporting women across Northern Ireland and beyond.I will be donating £3 to Glow from every crown charm bracelet sold during the month of March.There are four stones to choose from:• lava stone• pink howlite• black onyx• black tourmalineEach reported to have healing properties such as relieving anxiety, cleansing negative thoughts, promoting strength.... and the list goes on.
